Cognitive load

Tasks creates cognitive load. The load is divided to three sub-loads: Intrinsic, extraneous and germane.

• Intrinsic load is the load created by the task itself.
• Extraneous load is the load created by the way the task is represented.
• Germane load is the load devoted to creating schemas for solving the problem.
